REGINA – Police are investigating the theft of religious items, including some of historic significance, from a church northeast of Regina.
RCMP say they received a call on Sunday about a break and enter at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edenwold.

Officers determined the thief or thieves pried open one of the side doors to get into the church.
Items stolen include an oak baptismal font, brass candle holders, a brass crucifix, a silver chalice and an oak hymn board.
The font and hymn board have been in the church community for more than 100 years.
Hymn books, Bibles, altar clothes and candles were also taken.
