Canada’s Olympic flag-bearer will be announced in Ottawa Thursday morning.

But with such a big roster of Olympic stars to choose from, who should it be?

Team Canada hockey captain Sidney Crosby? Moguls skier Alexandre Bilodeau – the first Canadian to win a gold medal on home soil?

Or how about short track speed skater Charles Hamelin, who won two gold medals within 30 minutes of each other at the Vancouver Olympics, and is an eight time World Champion?

Long track speed skater Christine Nesbitt could also be a possibility. She took home gold in the 1000m event in Vancouver and has a silver medal in team pursuit from 2006.

Hayley Wickenheiser, who has played and won a medal in every Olympics since women’s hockey was introduced as an event, is also a strong contender. But she recently lost her position as captain of the women’s team, a move that could indicate lower flag-bearing chances.

Can a pair carry the flag together? If so, figure skating darlings Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir could share the honour.

Erik Guay is Canada’s most-decorated alpine skier with multiple World Cup wins, but he’s still missing an Olympic medal. Perhaps carrying the flag could give him the boost he needs.
