A man who was hit by a car while walking on Calgary’s ring road early Tuesday was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police said officers were called to the southbound lanes of Stoney Trail north of McKnight Trail Northeast at about 3:45 a.m. after someone reported a pedestrian being hit by a car.
“Prior to the collision, police were notified of two males who witnesses described as walking into traffic, allegedly trying to stop vehicles,” the Calgary Police Service said in a news release.
Police said investigators believe a car was travelling in the far-right lane of southbound Stoney Trail Northeast when a “pedestrian entered into the path of the” vehicle and was hit by it. Police said the driver stopped his car and stayed at the scene.
