EDITOR’S NOTE: Police originally said the driver of the Jaguar was issued a ticket for failing to stop at a red light but later said one or more Traffic Safety Act charges are pending against the driver of the truck. This article has been updated to reflect the new information.
Police were called to a collision in north Edmonton on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at the intersection of 82nd Street and 149A Avenue at around 1:35 p.m.
Police said a Jaguar XF was reportedly heading north on 82nd Street and a Ford truck was heading south on 82nd Street. The truck turned left onto 149A Avenue “and through a yellow light,” colliding with the Jaguar, police said.
Three people inside the car and the driver of the truck were taken to hospital for precautionary reasons, police said. Alberta Health Services said EMS took three youths and one adult to hospital — all in stable condition.
They said one or more charges related to the Traffic Safety Act are pending against the driver of the truck.
