TORONTO — Canadian rock band Arcade Fire has landed a headline slot at the Glastonbury Festival in 2014.
The Montreal band will take the stage at the UK festival on June 27.
Arcade Fire was the first act to be announced for the 2014 edition of Glastonbury. Lily Allen revealed in November she was booked for the festival.
Country music legend Dolly Parton is also rumoured to be among the headliners.
Arcade Fire is on tour in support of its latest album, Reflektor, starting Jan. 17 in New Zealand. The band plays March 13 in Toronto and March 14 in Ottawa followed by August dates in Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg.
The tour wraps up Aug. 29 in Toronto and Aug. 30 in Montreal.
Last year’s Glastonbury performers included The Rolling Stones, Mumford & Sons, Elvis Costello and Kenny Rogers.
Montreal’s Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright also performed at the 2013 festival.
