Durham Regional Police say they have called in the homicide unit after a 62-year-old man was rushed to hospital and later died.
Police said officers responded to a disturbance call at a residence near Dean Avenue and Ritson Road South in Oshawa at around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Sgt. Joanne Bortoluss told reporters officers found a male suffering from obvious signs of trauma outside of the home.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased, Bortoluss said.
Bortoluss would not elaborate on the nature of the injuries the victim sustained but said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. She also said an altercation had occurred somewhere either inside or outside of the residence.
Two suspects fled the area, but one of them — a man — was arrested, she said. Bortoluss said officers are still looking for a second male suspect. No description was available.
Bortoluss is appealing to any witnesses or anyone with video to come forward to police.
