WATCH: First look at made-in-BC movie ‘Godzilla’

TORONTO — A massive creature wreaks havoc on Vancouver in a teaser trailer released Tuesday for the latest version of Godzilla.

The epic disaster flick was shot in and around Vancouver earlier this year.

While most of Godzilla was produced on sound stages, key scenes were filmed at the Vancouver Convention Centre, BC Place and in the Steveston community of Richmond.

Other B.C. locations include Nanaimo, Victoria and Coquitlam.

Additional scenes were completed in Hawaii.

The newly-released teaser trailer includes a quick glimpse of the titular creature.

The monster first appeared on the big screen in 1954.

The last attempt to bring Godzilla back to life was in Roland Emmerich’s 1998 film starring Matthew Broderick.

Due in theatres on May 16, 2014, the new Godzilla stars Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
