Victim sprayed with noxious substance during buy-and-sell robbery in Kitchener

A person was sprayed with a noxious substance during a buy-and-sell robbery in Kitchener on Tuesday night, according to Waterloo Regional Police.

Police were called at around 6:15 p.m. after they said the robbery occurred near Doon Village Road and Homer Watson Boulevard in the Lower Doon area.

According to a release, the victim met with a man after the pair had struck up a deal for a cell phone on a buy-and-sell website.

After giving the suspect the phone for inspection, police say the victim was sprayed with a noxious substance as the man took off with the merchandise.

Police described the suspect as being around 20 to 25 years old, six feet tall, and with a heavy build. He was said to be wearing a blue sweater.
