ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit started investigating in early October after a tip from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation focused on an unknown person sharing child porn on Snapchat, ALERT said.

Members of the ICE team, along with Taber police, arrested a suspect on Oct. 19 and searched a Taber home.

Brady Pavka, 25, has been charged with accessing, possessing and making available child pornography.

The investigation will continue with a complete forensic analysis of seized mobile devices, ALERT said.

Pavka was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 21.
