UPDATE: Man dies after Edmonton hit-and-run

EDMONTON – A 25-year-old man from Wabasca died Thursday after being critically injured in a hit-and-run early Monday morning in Edmonton.

Police responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3 near 102 Street and 105 Avenue.

They found the man and EMS personnel treated him on scene and he was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died three days later.

Traffic investigators were on scene following the hit-and-run, determining if the man was dragged before the vehicle took off.

Police were able to locate the white minivan involved, but are still looking for the driver.

This is the 25th traffic fatality of 2013.

The investigation is still being led by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Major Collision Investigation Section.
