Taya Fast
Video Journalist
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Abbotsford, B.C., Taya Fast is excited to once again call the Fraser Valley home. She has joined the Global BC team as a Video Journalist based in Abbotsford, B.C.
As a graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program in 2020, she began her broadcast career shortly after in Prince George, where she worked as a video journalist and fill-in anchor for CKPG News.
Afterward, she moved to Penticton to work for Global News Okanagan as the South Okanagan Video Journalist for nearly three years. During her time with Global Okanagan, she covered some of the most significant natural disasters and momentous local stories that have impacted the Interior region in recent years.
Outside of news, Taya is a trained Restorative Justice Coordinator and spent time volunteering with Penticton RCMP helping youth in the South Okanagan navigate the Restorative Justice program.
Taya is grateful for the opportunity to continue delivering stories that highlight local voices.
