John Nuttall, one of the suspects charged in the plot to bomb the B.C. Legislature, has been moved to a Coquitlam psychiatric hospital.

The 38-year-old Nuttall and his girlfriend Amanda Korody, 28, were charged in July with attempting to detonate homemade pressure-cooker bombs outside the Legislature during Canada Day festivities.

Nuttall and Korody, who police say were inspired by Al-Qaeda ideology, made their first court appearance on July 9. The two alleged bombers received a court adjournment on July 10. Tom Morino, who represents Nuttall and Korody, said he needed time to go over the Crown’s disclosure material and to sort out funding for legal services.

Nuttall and his girlfriend Korody are scheduled to appear next in court on August 7. If convicted, Morino says the couple could face life in prison.
