A hit and run incident on July 4, has left a vintage car with significant front-end damage and the driver with minor injuries. Police are still searching for the hit and run suspect.
Surrey RCMP arrived at the intersection of 120th Street and 76A Avenue where the accident occurred to find a fully-restored 1967 Ford Fairlane with significant body damage and the 25-year-old male driver from Surrey suffering from minor injuries.
The young man had taken his father’s vintage car for the day and was travelling northbound on 120th Street approaching 76A Avenue on a green light, when he was struck by an SUV that ran the stop sign. Witnesses said the SUV then sped from the scene.
The SUV is described as a dark blue or black 199 – 2005 Chevy Tahoe or Suburban with dark, tinted windows. Police say it will have heavy damage to the driver’s side rear-quarter panel.
