CALGARY – Police have laid charges against three men in connection to a murder plot over a gang-related rivalry.
Police allege the trio conspired to kill a man currently in prison, but say the plot was foiled due to their six month long investigation.
The would-be victim is currently behind bars serving a lengthy prison sentence for an unrelated shooting.
Police arrested 29-year-old Trong Minh Nguyen, 26-year-old Henry Le Nguyen and 26-year-old Byran James Balla on April 26th. All three are charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Henry Nguyen is also charged with drug and weapons-related offences.
All three are set to appear in court on Friday.
During their investigation, police searched a Calgary home, seizing marijuana and cocaine, cash, cellphones, a loaded .38-calibre handgun, ammunition, knives and a machete.
