At about 10:30 p.m., police received a report that the suspect was seen entering a different apartment complex in St. Paul. Out of concern for the safety of the building’s residents, the apartment complex was evacuated as police secured the area.

Police dog services and an Emergency Response Team (ERT) from Edmonton were called to the scene when the suspect refused to leave the apartment he was in. At about 4:30 a.m., members of the ERT entered the building and managed to arrest the suspect “without incident.” Police seized a gun at the scene but said nobody was injured.
