A retired Ottawa teacher has been charged with sexual assault in connection with incidents police allege happened more than three decades ago.

Ottawa police say the man faces 14 charges including indecent assault on a male and indecent assault on a female.

They allege the incidents took place from 1970 to 1982 and involved three male victims and one female victim ranging in age from 14 to 17.

Police say the assaults happened when the man was in the course of his duties as a teacher and coach with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

Donald Greenham, 73, of Ottawa, was charged Monday and was scheduled to appear in court that same day.
