Global News has learned Calgary police have arrested two people in connection with the 2014 murder of a 39-year-old Calgary father.
Jason Quinn Antonio, who had a son and a daughter, was gunned down after leaving his home on Manora Road N.E. on Oct. 4, 2014. Police never revealed a motive for the killing.

Court documents reveal that in September 2013, Antonio was arrested and charged in connection with a drug seizure by police that netted over 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. He was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Antonio’s mother told Global News two men were arrested Tuesday morning.
A source told Global News charges are pending against one of the men. They said a second man was being questioned but it was not clear whether police were planning to charge him.
The men were arrested in a law enforcement operation dubbed Operation Hydra, according to the source.
“May they live a life from this day on in turmoil,” Antonio’s mother, Peggy Anderson, said in a statement issued to Global News. “May they feel the pain my son felt when they took his last breath.”

Anderson said her son’s family and many friends have been devastated by his murder.
“I think about my dearest, cherished son every day,” she said. “As he is with me in spirit and all the ones that he loves. His kind soul and his caring smile will live on.”
Anderson also said she was thankful to the Calgary Police Service’s homicide unit for their diligence in working to find out who killed her son.
