Winnipeg Blue Bombers reveal 2016 schedule

WINNIPEG — Football fans now know when they’ll get their first look at the Winnipeg Blue Bombers renovated roster.

The team opens the regular season at home against the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, June 24. Winnipeg will play two pre-season games before that night. Its first tune-up tilt is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8 at Investors Group Field against the Alouettes. The second is set for Monday, June 13 in Ottawa against the RedBlacks.

The annual Labour Day Classic clash versus the Roughriders in Saskatchewan will take place Sunday, September 4. The Banjo Bowl goes the following Saturday in Winnipeg with a 3 p.m. kickoff.

Winnipeg wraps up the regular season in Ottawa on Friday, November 4.

The Bombers play the majority of their home games on Saturdays with four scheduled. They also have a Wednesday night tilt against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on August 3.

Winnipeg’s longest homestand this season is two games. The Bombers longest road trip is three games spanning from August 12 to September 4 with a bye week sandwiched in the middle.
