Surrey RCMP are investigating a targeted drive-by shooting that left nearly a dozen bullets in a house not far from several elementary schools.
Officers were called to 62A Avenue and 142 Street around 11 p.m. on Monday after neighbours reported gunfire. Witnesses then saw a suspect running from the area described as a South Asian male wearing a mask.
No one was hurt, but investigators have found between eight and 10 bullets. Police also received calls from within the home, saying shots were fired towards two people who were in the garage. The two intended victims are not being cooperative with police.
Police have been speaking to witnesses and are canvassing the area for surveillance video, but there have been no arrests. Police have also not released a suspect description.
Investigators are not saying if the homeowner is known to them, but they don’t believe the shooting is related to drugs or an ongoing gang turf war.
