CALGARY – Police have charged a Calgary senior with hitting and killing a pedestrian in Forest Lawn on Sunday.
It happened in the intersection of 17 Avenue S.E. and 52 Street S.E. at around 9:45 p.m.
The victim was struck by an eastbound pickup truck while crossing the road, throwing him approximately 20 meters. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS say the victim was a man in his early 40s.
The driver of the vehicle was taken in for questioning by police.
William Edward Grimm, 66, is charged with impaired driving causing death and impaired driving over .08 causing death.
