TORONTO – Cirque du Soleil is heading to Broadway.

The Quebec-based company’s theatrical division says its show Paramour is being created specifically for the Lyric Theatre, where it will start previews in April 2016.

The piece is billed as “blending the best of Broadway with Cirque du Soleil’s signature style.”

It has a love story narrative and features live musicians, actors and circus arts performers.

The story is set in the Golden Age of Hollywood and follows a young poet who’s forced to choose between love and art.

This is Cirque’s first show created specifically for Broadway.
