EDMONTON – Cirque du Soleil is bringing another gravity-defying show to Edmonton for seven performances this summer. Varekai is coming to Rexall Place from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 21, 2015.

Northlands explains that Varekai (pronounced ver·ay·’kiemeans ‘wherever’ in the Romany languages of the gypsies. It also says the production “pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition and to those who quest with infinite passion along the path that leads to Varekai.”

The story follows Icarus, a solitary young man who goes on an adventure through a magical forest full of fantastical creatures.

“There is no show more awe-inspiring than a Cirque du Soleil performance and Northlands is proud to be the destination for excitement for your family and friends this spring,” said Tim Reid, president and CEO of Northlands.
