Federal Election 2015: Lethbridge riding results

Real time live results available on Monday, October 19 2015 after polls close. Overall results will be available here.

Summary: Conservative MP Jim Hillyer has represented this riding since 2011, but redistribution sees him running in the new riding of Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner. It also means this is a much more urban riding, and that could open the door for another party to break the Conservative hold on this seat. This is one to watch.

Boundaries: This riding used to include a large area south of Lethbridge. Redistribution shrinks this riding to include only the city of Lethbridge and Lethbridge County.

Last Election: Under the former boundaries of this riding, Conservative Hillyer won the seat with 56.51 per cent of the vote, defeating the NDP’s Mark Sandilands who earned 27.24 per cent. However, voters within the new boundaries of this riding voted 52.5 per cent Conservative, and 30.0 per cent NDP.

History: This riding is historically conservative. Conservative Rick Casson was the MP here from 1997 until he retired from politics in 2011.
