SASKATOON – Investigators with the Saskatoon police sex crimes unit are asking for help in five separate investigations that span a one year period.

The most recent case happened on July 5 in the Silverwood Heights neighbourhood. Police say a woman was getting out of her vehicle around 4:30 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown man and assaulted.

The man fled towards Adilman Drive when the woman and another person inside the residence began yelling.

Around the same time, another person reported a suspicious vehicle in the area, a 2004-07 maroon-colour Ford Escape.

A canine track was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

Investigators believe this assault may be connected to a suspicious person case. On July 13, 2014, a woman was walking to her home around 3:30 a.m. in the same area when an unknown man began walking towards her.

In the most recent case, he had a goatee and was wearing dark jeans or pants and a black hoodie with the hood pulled up.

Sex crime investigators say there are similarities to three cases from earlier this year that happened in City Park.

On Feb. 27, a man exposed himself to four women who were leaving an apartment building around 11:30 p.m. The women left the area.

A short time later, another woman returning to the same building was approached by a man who touched her inappropriately. He then fled the scene.

Then on May 12, a woman walking in the neighbourhood around 1:00 a.m. was approached from behind and knocked to the ground. A struggle ensued and the man fled the scene.

Police are advising people, especially women walking alone at night, to be vigilant and take extra precautions.
