Unwanted party guest allegedly stabs 3 in North Battleford, Sask.

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – RCMP were called to a complaint of a man stabbing three people with a large knife in North Battleford, Sask. Saturday. At around 5:37 a.m., officers attended a residence in the 1500-block of 103rd Street.

Investigators revealed the victims had been partying together in a yard and the suspect was an unwanted guest.

RCMP say the suspect was told to leave and was being escorted out by one of the victims when a fight started and the victim was allegedly stabbed. Two other people were allegedly stabbed while trying to stop the suspect.

The suspect fled the scene once the police were called.

All the victims were taken to hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds.

Officers quickly arrested the suspect and found what they believe to be 12.2 grams of cocaine on his person.

His is facing several charges including: possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, uttering threats, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of aggravated assault.

The man has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
