REGINA – A 13-year-old boy has been charged with making threats at St. Luke School Wednesday afternoon.
The student allegedly told a teacher he was in possession of a firearm. The teacher made sure that was not the case and sent the student home for the day.
However, around noon staff became concerned the student could return and called police.
The school on Elphinstone Street was secured, doors were locked and staff began monitoring traffic in and out of the building. Other schools nearby also went into secure mode.
Meanwhile, officers located and arrested the suspect at his home, where they determined the threat of a weapon was false.
The teenager will make his first court appearance on June 6, 2015.
