SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Fire Department stopped a grass fire from spreading south of the city Sunday. Firefighters were called at around 11:30 a.m. to the hamlet of Furdale.
Upon arrival, fire crews found grass and trees burning. Firefighters were able to stop the flames before they reached nearby buildings.
The fire was under control in half an hour and crews stayed after it was extinguished to wet down the area.
No injuries were reported and the cause is considered accidental.
