Police seize $270,000 worth of drugs in trafficking bust

CALGARY – Police have seized over $270,000 worth of drugs in a six-month long investigation into an alleged drug trafficking operation in Calgary.

Officers executed search warrants on five homes and seven vehicles on March 4th.

During their search, officers discovered a weapon, multiple types of ammunition and the key to a storage locker.

A subsequent search of the storage locker revealed more weapons and ammunition.

In total, police seized:

  • Three semi-automatic rifles
  • Two handguns
  • One pump-action shotgun
  • Multiple rounds of ammunition for all six firearms
  • 309.1 grams of cocaine
  • 45.7 grams of heroin
  • 578.1 grams of methamphetamine
  • 27.1 grams of MDMA (commonly called ecstasy)
  • 150.4 grams of cannabis oil
  • 320 grams of cannabis resin
  • 110 pills of OxyContin
  • 16.9 grams of marijuana
  • 2,551 pills of Fentanyl

Police also found over $16,000 in Canadian currency and $1,800 in counterfeit US currency.

Investigators took six people into custody:

  • Hafiz Allan Mohammed, 28, of Calgary, has been charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and six firearm offences.
  • Tyler Steven Price, 30, of Calgary has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime.
  • Sean William Kiss, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime.
  • Sandra Johanna Woloshyn, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of ammunition.
  • Steven John Hurd, 30, and Christie-Lee Harris, 29, both of Calgary, are both charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of proceeds of crime and one count of possession of counterfeit currency.

The investigation is still ongoing and police say it’s possible more charges may be laid.
