SASKATOON – Two men were sent to hospital after separate stabbings in Saskatoon overnight. One man has been arrested and police are looking for suspects in the second stabbing.

The first stabbing happened Thursday around 10:45 p.m. at a residence in the 2000-block of 20th Street. Police believe a man was trying to intervene in a domestic dispute when he was stabbed.

He was taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. There is no word on his current condition.

A 47-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, common assault and breach of an undertaking. He was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Friday.

The second stabbing happened early Friday morning on Idylwyld Drive. Police were called to a home in the 1600-block of Avenue G North around 1:30 a.m. for a report of an injured man after he knocked on the door asking for help.

He told officers he was in the 1400-block of Idylwyld when he was knocked to the ground by a truck. At least one person then got out and proceeded with the attack before fleeing.

The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. There is no word on his current condition.
