REGINA – A Weyburn man is facing attempted murder charges after a series of incidents in a rural Saskatchewan home.

Police were called to a home in a rural area just north of Weyburn near 3 a.m. Monday morning. Early investigations reveal that a man entered the home without consent and an altercation took place with the 28 year-old woman who lived there.

A 43 year-old man was sleeping in the basement of the house when he heard yelling and a second altercation took place in the basement of the home.

The 43 year-old man was able to control the suspect until police arrived, and then the 43 year-old man was taken to Weyburn’s hospital with stab wounds.

Dustin Hayes McFadden of Weyburn is facing a total of eight charges including Attempted Murder and Break and Enter.

McFadden made his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
