Boys charged in connection with fire that damaged The Pas school

THE PAS, Man. – RCMP have arrested four boys in connection with a fire that seriously damaged a school in northern Manitoba, the force says.

The blaze on Sunday forced officials to cancel classes at Mary Duncan School in The Pas.

There were no injuries.

A 12-year-old, two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old -are charged with arson, RCMP said Friday.

A fifth child under the age of 12 is too young to be criminally charged.

The youth, who are all from The Pas, have been released to their parents and are to appear in provincial court on Nov. 4.
