Police find no weapons after Brampton school sent into lockdown

TORONTO – A high school in Brampton was locked down Monday after two students mistook a camera for a gun.

A statement from Brampton Centennial Secondary School said two students were approached by two men in a car whom they believed had a gun.

The students reported the incident and the school went into lockdown shortly after 1 p.m.

Police searched the school, investigated and concluded the alleged firearm was rather an “L-shaped camera.”

Two youths were taken into custody by police.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 2 p.m.
