Name of suspect released in Toronto community housing double stabbing

TORONTO – Police have released the identity of the suspect involved in a double stabbing at a Toronto community housing complex Sunday afternoon.

Abu-Bakar Hassan is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

It is alleged the suspect stabbed two male victims around 12:29 p.m at 220 Oak Street near Gerrard and River Streets.

One person was struck multiple times and was without vital signs when paramedics arrived.

Another victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police said a weapon was seized at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
