The city will need more money for snow removal to battle blizzards this year.
A report on snow and ice control will go before council members Wednesday.
The city spent just over $31 million on snow removal since January and there is only $2.5 million to last the rest of the year.
A reserve fund is available worth $4.1 million, but the report says it might not be enough to cover snow removal until December.
The roads maintenance department is asking that council allow it to overspend by $6 million.
$26 million in capital funding is also required for snow storage sites.
A temporary site was set up, after a record breaking year for snowfall.
