EDMONTON – A 25-year-old and an 18-year-old are each charged with 79 counts of mischief after an alleged tagging spree across Edmonton.

Edmonton police officers responded to a complaint that two men were spray painting several buildings, light standards and a vehicle along 118 Ave. between 92 St. and 102 St. around 6:30 a.m. on April 5.

The two men were arrested on scene.

“There is absolutely nothing remotely artistic about tagging,” said Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Supt. Tony Harder. “This is the type of disorder that destroys neighbourhoods and promotes further criminality.”
Garrett Morin, 25, has been charged with 79 counts of mischief under $5,000 and three counts of breach of probation.

Kordell Cardinal, 18, has been charged with 79 counts of mischief under $5,000.

“We hope this sends a clear message to the community that this sort of criminal behavior will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the highest degree,” said Harder.
