SASKATOON – Two Dalmeny residents helped Saskatoon police nab a theft suspect over the weekend.
The pair had arrived home to find a truck leaving their driveway with stolen building material in the back.
They alerted Saskatoon police around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday that the truck was heading into the city and followed at a safe distance while informing officers of their location.
A traffic unit officer spotted the truck on Fairmont Drive and followed it to the intersection of Pendygrasse Road and Nash Place where the driver stopped and fled on foot.
He was tracked down by a canine unit a short distance away.
The 32-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with possession of stolen property and breach of an undertaking. He also had several outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
