Manitoba announces bivalent vaccine eligibility

Manitoba's deputy chief public health officer Dr. Jazz Atwal announced on Friday the first groups eligible for the new bivalent vaccine. The bivalent vaccine, which is expected to arrive in the province this month, has been developed to protect against both the original strain of the COVID-19 virus and the Omicron variant. Manitobans who can access this vaccine first include: adults 65 and older, Indigenous people 18 or older and adults with high-risk medical conditions, including those who are immunocompromised, healthcare workers and care home residents.
