Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mayor of Montreal Valerie Plante said they have sent an official request to the federal government to provide them with masks and thermometers for public health workers to be used at the airport for screening purposes. Dr. Mylene Drouin, Director of Public Health for the city of Montreal, added that the reason behind closing leisure and recreational sites like bars and schools is to limit the spread of the virus, especially since “symptoms among youth and young adults are often mild”
