Public health officials say two cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in Northumberland County.
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit and Peterborough Public Health say two American crows found dead in Hamilton Township have both tested positive for the virus.
These are the the first confirmed cases of West Nile in the area this year.
