• City of Vancouver testing first 30 km/h ‘slow zone’ near Commercial Drive

  The slow zone extends east-west between Clark Drive and Commercial Drive and north-south between Grandview Highway North and First Avenue.

• Vancouver city council votes to test lower speed limits on residential streets

  Staff will now be looking at specific neighbourhoods to test out the lowered speed limit, hopefully by the end of this year.

• Proposal seeks to drop default speed limits on residential B.C. streets to 30 km/h

  The idea, which would only apply to side streets, is meant to reduce pedestrian fatalities and encourage walking and biking.
