A two-year agreement between educators and the province became official after the government confirmed that the Teachers' Employer Bargaining Association ratified the accord on Wednesday.

Alberta's teachers have voted to ratify a two-year agreement with the province that sees instructional and assignable time be capped and more "teacher autonomy over professional growth plans." However, the contract has more hurdles to clear before it is a done deal.

The Alberta government announced it has reached a tentative deal with the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Teachers Employer Bargaining Association on Wednesday.
