The BC SPCA said Friday the RCMP was able to trace the owner of the dog and were successful in getting a warrant to seize the animal. It was taken into custody Wednesday.

Police say a 46-year-old man was trying to euthanize his dog with a handgun, after the dog had bitten several people, but missed and shot a 21-year-old who was also in the home.
