Close to 1.35 million square feet of office space is committed to be converted into 1,420 homes through the City of Calgary's Downtown Development Incentive Program.

The city's new incentive programs will provide grants to building owners who might want to convert their empty office spaces into schools, hotels and performing art spaces.

Alberta's provincial budget includes around $2 billion in funding commitments for Calgary, but didn't include continued funding for downtown revitalization.
