1 person dead after Market Mall shooting in Calgary

Calgary police have confirmed a man is dead after a shooting at Market Mall in Calgary on Saturday afternoon.

According to a Saturday evening news release, the incident was first reported at around 2:20 p.m. Police said there were reports of shots fired outside the south entrance of Market Mall.

Officers said a man was in medical distress and was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, where he was declared deceased.

The Calgary Police Service released an image of the vehicle that was allegedly in the area at the time of the shooting. The vehicle is described as a white 2015 to 2016 model Volvo XC60, and police said they want to speak to the driver who may have information about the incident.

No further details are available at this time, police said. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
