Saskatoon Police are investigating a homicide that happened Wednesday morning in the 200 block of Avenue S South.
Saskatoon Police reported a 35-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A man and woman believed to be involved in the shooting left the 200 block of Avenue W South in a truck, heading north on Highway 11 at dangerous speeds.
They were taken into custody by Saskatchewan RCMP near Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation.
Fifteen other individuals were taken into custody from inside the Avenue W South residence.
Police confirmed additional suspect 24-year-old Shane Thomas was arrested in the 300 block of Idylwyld Drive Wednesday afternoon shortly after security camera footage of him was made public.
Police added Thomas and the victim were known to each other.
“(Police) are still working to get through and talk to a number of people and that all takes time,” said Saskatoon Police Service spokesperson Kelsie Fraser. “In addition to talking, they will be looking at other types of evidence they need to secure and gather.”
