Tens of thousands of people were impacted by a series of power outages in the London, Ont., and surrounding region on Friday.
London Hydro reported more than 20 outages in the north end of the Forest City around 11:30 a.m., impacting nearly 12,600 customers.
Officials told Global News that the outages were reportedly due to a vehicle collision near Western Road and Windermere Road.
Estimated restoration time of is said to be around 4 p.m., however the company reports that most areas in north London were back online as of 1 p.m.
Hydro One also reported outages north of the city on Friday.
A spokesperson for Hydro One told Global News that at around 11 a.m., approximately 27,000 customers in Centralia, Goderich, Constance and Grand Bend had been impacted by an outage due to “an issue with a local provider connected to it’s transmission system.”
As of 1 p.m., the company said that power had been restored to affected customers.
