Police say retail theft is a “lucrative criminal enterprise that costs Canadian retailers almost $4 billion a year.”
Organizers hope the public awareness campaign will have a significant impact on retail crime rates.
The campaign will be seen in retail locations across the city and aired on local radio stations.
