Niagara police have charged two men following the death of a man at a St. Catharines residence Monday night.
Investigators say the man was found dead by officers at a home in the area of Louth Street and Pelham Road after responding to a call around 8 p.m.
Police spokesperson const. Phil Gavin said in an email the accused were taken into custody shortly after the discovery.
“Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics treated a male, 34, who was found to be in critical condition,” said Gavin.
“The male victim, despite resuscitative efforts, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
A 42-year-old from St. Catharines and 45-year-old of no fixed address are now each facing manslaughter charges and failure to comply with a probation order.
The two made their first appearances in court via a video bail hearing Tuesday.
Anyone with information about the incident can reach out to Niagara police or Crime Stoppers.
