An investigation which closed roads in the Williamsburg area of Kitchener on Thursday involved a man being sought by police in Hamilton, according to Waterloo Regional Police.

They initially issued a tweet at around 7 a.m. asking residents to avoid the area around Erinbrook Drive and Rockwood Road area as they were conducting an investigation.

Just over an hour later, police issued a second tweet that noted they had taken a man into custody and soon after a third tweet noted that the roads had reopened.

“A safe and effective arrest was made, weapon information unsubstantiated and then the arrested individual was taken back to Hamilton,” they told Global News in an email.

“No danger to the public at anytime.”

They also said there would be no further information provided because of “the victim and suspect involvement.”
