TORONTO — The Great One’s daughter has said she doesn’t feel the same connection to Canada as her famous father.

“I know where my dad is from, and I know how much he means to Canada, but I’m American,” Paulina Gretzky told Maxim. “I basically split my time between L.A., where my family is, and Florida, where my fiancé  is based.”

Wayne Gretzky’s 24-year-old daughter appears on the cover of the December issue of the men’s magazine wearing nothing but a white bathing suit, high heels and a pair of driving gloves.

Although No. 99 was born in Brantford, Ont. and played for the Edmonton Oilers from 1979 to 1988, all five of his children — with wife Janet Jones — were born in the U.S.

Paulina, who is engaged to pro golfer Dustin Johnson, shows a lot of skin in the photos inside Maxim, which hits newsstands Nov. 19. Her Twitter followers have seen her in nothing but a swimsuit many times.

“I’m sorry; I’m not posting pictures when I’m reading a book,” explained Gretzky. “I feel like social media is supposed to be for fun, to share what you’re doing when you’re enjoying life.”

Though she isn’t showing a lot of love for Canada, the model and aspiring singer admitted she’s a hockey fan. “If I’m in a city where there’s a game going on, you can count me in,” Gretzky said.
